UK contractor John F Hunt used a 110 tonne Hitachi excavator fitted with a Kocurek 42 m telescopic high reach boom on a UK£ 4,5 million (US$ 8,8 million) contract to demolish the Wembley Conference Centre in London, UK. The 43 week contract involved the removal of the reinforced concrete structures on a floor-by-floor and bay-by-bay basis using a range of equipment, including a 280 ton Manitowoc crawler crane to lift out sections of the structure.
