Caterpillar Logistics Services is to build a new 93000 m2 parts and distribution centre in Ohio, US. Construction of the US$ 50 million facility is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2010 and be completed in 2011.
Vice president of Caterpillar and president of Caterpillar Logistics, Steve Larson said, "The Clayton Parts Distribution Centre in Ohio will provide capacity for growth in parts demand. We are committed to customer success and to maintaining our leadership in parts distribution and this centre will enable us to optimise our parts supply chain."
Once fully operational, the centre in Clayton will replace Caterpillar's Indianapolis regional distribution facility and will assume some of the work from the company's parts distribution centre in Morton, Illinois.
