Case launches SV-Series backhoe loaders
05 October 2021
Case Construction Equipment has introduced a new series of backhoe loaders, featuring a redesigned cab that is said to put operator comfort at the forefront.
Launched via a live virtual event and described as the ‘kings’ of backhoe loaders, Case’s new 580SV, 590SV and 695SV models promise the same power and torque as their predecessor ST machines.
“Comfortable operators are productive operators,” said Egidio Galano, Product Management Director, CASE Construction Equipment, Europe. “And the new Backhoe Loader SV Series has many improvements that add up to big productivity gains.”
“We have totally re-engineered the cab for optimal operator comfort, introduced an FPT-designed Stage V engine with significant emissions savings whilst maintaining performance, and unique features such as the integrated quick coupler still being part of the best-in-class specification.”
Wider than those of the company’s previous backhoe loaders, the new cabs of the SV Series provide operators with more leg-room when rotating the seat between forward facing and rear facing configurations.
In addition to two USB ports, a mobile phone holder and Bluetooth connectivity, other significant improvements include an increased amount of storage - comprising two lockable storage compartments, two bottle holders, four operat trays and a cooling box.
Galano added, “A relocated parking brake, new speedometer option, regrouped switches on the right-hand console, new integrated F-N-R switch in the loader control lever on the Power Shift model, new joystick roller switch for extending dipper operation and relocated stabiliser levers all add up to time savings.”
When it comes to performance, the new models are fitted with Stage V engines manufactured by FPT, which help to reduce emissions, improve productivity and lower the total cost of ownership.
Galano said, “The new Backhoe Loader SV Series is the highest performing, most productive, fuel efficient and reliable backhoe loader available.”
“The 3.6 litre 4-cylinder 16v 1800 bar common rail injection engine with WG turbocharger, delivers industry-leading performance up to 82 kW and 460 Nm, all in the same highly compact layout as previous models,” said Case.
Incorporating an operator-controlled ECO mode that lowers fuel consumption by up to 10%, the SV Series machines also include FPT’s Compact High Efficiency SCR2 (Hi-eSCR2) aftertreatment system.
According to Case, this helps remove particulate matter from exhaust fumes when carrying out tasks that “typically generate low exhaust temperatures and include frequent stop and go cycles”.
A 500-hour oil change interval and the maintenance-free Hi-eSCR2 also help to lower operating costs and downtime.
The company’s Backhoe Loader SV Series machines are already available in selected markets, with Europe-wide availability coming soon.
