Bomag's heavy compaction
22 April 2010
Bomag launched its largest ever roller at the Bauma exhibition in the shape of its BW332 single drum roller.
With an operating weight of 32 tonnes, the roller features a compaction depth of 4 m. Fitted with a self-cleaning polygonal drum featuring plates and angles, compaction forces are directed vertically into the ground with no loss of vibration energy. This creates optimum traction with low rolling resistance.
The BW332 has a working width of 2,4 m, amplitude of 3,3 mm, 750 kN of centrifugal force and 10 kg per mm of static linear load. Equipped with Bomag's Variocontrol vibration system, which automatically adjusts vibration to soil stiffness, the BW332 boasts +50% increased performance over the company's earlier 26 tonne BW226.
