Boels Rental has placed an order for more than 600 portable compressors from Atlas Copco Portable Air, including Stage V diesel units and E-Air VSD electric mobile compressors.

An E-Air compressor from Atlas Copco Portable Air.

Adding to Boels’ emission-free equipment offering, the E-Air VSD compressors are plug-and-play, electric-powered compressors for working in low emission zones.

“The absence of diesel emissions, combined with the low noise levels (as low as 61dB(A) – comparable to the sound level of a normal conversation), make the E-Air range the perfect match for companies committed to sustainability,” Atlas Copco said in a statement.

In early 2021 Boels stated its mission to become “the largest provider of zero-emission equipment in the rental sector.”

Heiko Schultz, Business Line Manager DACH Benelux region, Atlas Copco Portable Air said,

“We can offer a complete range of Stage V units and, of course, the E-Air electric compressor. On top of those products, Boels Rental can rely on us for application knowledge and excellent after-sales support across the continent,”

It is understood Boels, which has been a key account for Atlas Copco for more than 20 years, is consolidating equipment purchasing for the whole group centrally via its headquarters in Sittard, the Netherlands.

The group places large equipment orders every three to four years, and this latest order also follows a smaller one for handheld pneumatic equipment from Atlas Copco’s Portable Air Division earlier in 2021.

Boels Rental will soon offer a full range of pneumatic equipment to customers all over Europe.
