bC India attracts 22000 visitors
11 February 2011
The four-day bC India exhibition in Mumbai was attended by more than 22000 visitors from 69 countries in what was widely regarded as a successful first-time show. The 500-exhibitor event was organised by a joint venture between the US-based Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) and Messe München International (MMI) the organiser of the Bauma exhibition in Munich, Germany and Bauma China in Shanghai, China.
Dennis Slater, president of AEM said, "We went in with a goal to have a high-quality attendance. What we see from registrations and the overwhelmingly positive comments from exhibitors is that great quality visitors have come in high quantities. It's really beaten our expectations."
Eugen Egetenmeir, managing director of MMI added, "Visitors have come from all over India and exhibitors have also told us they have had high-level customers from neighbouring countries like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, as well as from the Gulf region, East Africa and even Brazil."
Back in 2013
The next bC India is planned for early 2013, but there is some question over the venue because the temporary exhibition area used this year in Mumbai may not be available and in any case is unlikely to be big enough for an enlarged exhibition.
"In the coming months we are going to look at potential venues that can provide the space we will require. Of course our preferred location is Mumbai. It is at the mid-point of north and south India and it is linked well by its domestic and international airports. Mumbai also offers the vital range of different hotel accommodation. It has everything our customers need," said Mr Egetenmeir.
