One of the most eye-catching machines at Bauma China 2012 was this new 300 tonne face shovel from Zoomlion.

Last week’s Bauma China saw a +16% rise in visitor numbers to 180,000, compared to the last time the exhibition was held in 2010. There was a +46% rise in the number of exhibitors to 2,718, and the amount of space occupied was up +30% to 300,000 m2.

Eugen Egetenmeir, managing director of organiser, Messe München said, “Bauma China braved all market tendencies. In this respect, it was held just at the right time. The show once again proved to be the key business platform for companies to tap into the Chinese market, as well as Greater Asia.”

Visitors from some 141 countries attended the show, with Russia, South Korea, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Turkey following on in order after China.

Exhibitors meanwhile were drawn from 38 individual countries. China was the largest group, with 1,837 exhibitors, followed by Germany (172), Italy (122), US (116), South Korea (67) and Japan (49).

The next Bauma China takes place in Shanghai from November 25 to 28, 2014.
