Balfour Beatty's US subsidiary, Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Inc., has won the US$ 415 million contract for phase four of Texas' State Highway 161 Tollway in a joint venture with Flour.

The work, which includes two new 10.5 km-long main lanes from Interstate Highway 20 to north of Interstate Highway 30, direct connector ramps, slip ramps, overpass bridges and underpass bridges, is for the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA).

Design work on SH161 is scheduled to begin next month (September).

Balfour Beatty's activities in the US now account for 30% of Group revenue.
