Following its acquisition of Antec last summer, Ammann has launched a seven strong series of pavers at the Bauma exhibition to complement its existing range of road construction equipment.

Spokesman Lukas Jenzer told CE, "Our entry into small and medium pavers is an exciting development and one that extends our offering from trench compactors such as the new Rammax RW2500L right through to continuous asphalt plants such as our Contimix series."

The range topping APT 500 E/G tracked and APW 500 E/G wheeled pavers weigh 14 tonnes and can pave layers up to 300 mm in depth across widths of between 2,5 m and 6,5 m.

Both versions feature hydrostatic transmission and are powered by 119 kW Cummins QSB 4,4 diesel engines. The screeds can be heated with either gas or electricity and both machines have a maximum production capacity of 500 tonnes/hour and a hopper capacity of 12 tonnes.

The tracked version has a maximum transfer speed of 4,5 km/hour and a maximum paving speed of 37 m/minute, while the wheeled model features a transfer speed of 14 km/hour and a paving speed of 40 m/minute.

Weighing 7,5 tonnes, the mid-range tracked APT 350 E/G and wheeled APW 350 E/G units can pave thicknesses of up to 280 mm at widths of between 1,8 m and 4,5 m. Both pavers have an 8 tonne hopper capacity and the screeds can be heated with either gas or electricity.

Powered by 51,5 kW Deutz TD2011L04i diesel engines, both feature hydrostatic transmission and have maximum production capacities of 230 tonnes/hour and maximum working speeds of 35 m/minute.

In the 5 tonne class Ammann unveiled its APT 270 E/G tracked and APW 270 E/G wheeled pavers each weighing 5,2 tonnes. Both machines are powered by 33,2 kW Deutz D2011L03i diesel engines and feature hydrostatic transmission.

Capable of paving widths of between 1,4 m and 3,3 m to a depth of 250 mm, both machines have a production capacity of 150 tonnes/hour and both are fitted with screeds that can be heated by gas or electricity.

The tracked version features a maximum transfer speed of 4,5 km/hour and a maximum paving speed of 27 m/minute. With the wheeled version, transfer speed is increased to 10 km/hour and paving speed to 40 m/minute.

Completing the line up is the APW 150 G weighing just 790 kg. With a hopper capacity of 1,2 tonnes, a production capacity of 35 tonnes/hour and a maximum transfer speed of 2,5 km/hour, the APW 1500 is equipped with an automatic conveyor and screw, a floating, gas-heated screed and automatic burner ignition and temperature control.

Mr Jenzer said, "The size of the APW 150 G allied to its three wheel configuration makes it the ideal paver for confined spaces."
