Aktor signs contract for Romanian road

Aktor, the construction subsidiary of Greek group Ellaktor has signed the contract for the construction of Lot 2 of the motorway from Sebes to Turda in Romania.
The contract, through Aktor-Euroconstruct Trading ’98 in which Aktor holds 51%, is being financed by the European Commission Cohesion Fund (85%) and the Romanian State (15%), through the Commission’s Sectoral Operational Programme – Transport.
The contract is worth RON549 million (€122 million).
The motorway will be 24.25km long, with two traffic lanes and one emergency lane in each direction. There will be a maintenance and monitoring centre, plus one interchange, 12 viaducts, nine overpasses and seven underpasses.
The length of the project duration is 22 months with completion due in September 2016.
