35th anniversary

18 March 2008

New Holland construction is celebrating the 35th anniversary of its first skid steer loader, the L35, which was introduced in 1972.

"Thirty-five yearsago, [we] introduced the L35 skid steer loader, the first skid steer loader in the construction industry with ROPS and a vertical parallel lift boom system," said Terry Sheehan, vice president, New Holland Construction.

" Besides this milestone the 220000th skid steer loader will roll off New Holland's production line in 2007," he added.

Earlier this year, in honour of the machine's 35th anniversary, the company launched the L175, a 0,9 tonne capacity machine with a 45 kW turbocharged engine, a bucket breakout force of 1,9 tonnes and an operating weight of 2,83 tonnes.

The company also produced a special custom black and silver 35th Anniversary skid steer loader (shown), which has spent the year touring various trade shows around the world.
