It has been reported that China State Construction Engineering Corporation Limited (CSCEC) has been chosen by Autoputevi RS, the motorway operator of Bosnia’s Serb Republic, to build the Vukosavlje-Brcko motorway section.

The €335 million contract was given to CSCEC after it entered the lowest bid of eight tenders.

The 33km section will run between Vukosavlje and the municipality of Brčko near the Slovenian border and forms part of a wider project to build a further 37km section that stretches to the border of Serbia. There are further plans to connect the Serbian Republic’s main city Banja Luka to the Serbian capital of Belgrade.

Both sections of the project are said to be completed by 2030.
