XCMG’s new earthmoving, road building and concrete equipment

06 November 2014

XCMG’s booth at Bauma China will cover almost 5,200 m2 and the company said it will have some 44 machines on display. Hard to miss will be the new LW1200K wheeled loader, which with a 48 tonne operating weight and 6.5 m3 bucket is one of the largest wheeled loaders made in China.

Also new in the company’s earthmoving portfolio will be the 34.5 tonne XE360N excavator which is powered by a liquefied natural gas (LNG) engine. XCMG says this offers lower fuel costs and emissions than traditional diesel engines. Indeed, it claims fuel consumption is at least -30% lower than with diesel and the cleaner-burning LNG fuel means virtually no pollutants.

The machine comes with a 1.4 m3 bucket as standard and offers 263 kN of bucket digging force.

New in XCMG’s grader range is the 16.5 tonne GR215K, which is powered by a Stage IIIA Cummins QSB6.7 diesel engine and Dana axles and torque converter. The overall styling of the grader is new, and XCMG says it has improved the cab environment as well as installed a new control system which is easier for the operator to use.

At the top of the company’s compactor range is the new 36.5 tonne XS363 single drum roller. With a 2.4 m wide drum vibrating at 26 HZ, the machine develops a force of up to 850 kN.

XCMG says it developed the machine in response to customer demands for a heavy duty compactor for major projects such as dam construction. It added that its initial tests indicated the XS363 offers some of the best efficiency and deepest compaction depths on the market.

In the concrete sector, XCMG will show two new products in the shape of the HB67K truck-mounted pump and boom, and the HBC10020K truck-mounted line pump.

The HB67K is said to be manoeuvrable and offer a fast set-up time, and is fitted with a 66 m vertical reach boom and 170 m3/hour concrete pump. The machine will be shown at Bauma China on a five-axle Mercedes Actors chassis, with a gross vehicle weight of 54 tonnes.

The HBC10020K meanwhile is intended for smaller scale construction. It can deliver 100 m3 of concrete per hour when set to low pressure delivery (11 MPa), or if higher pressure is required for longer pumping distances, it can deliver 55 m3/hour at 20 MPa. However, XCMG says that even at the lower pressure setting, the pump can deliver concrete to a height of up to 300 m, or over a distance of 1,200 m.

It will be at the show on a two-axle Sinotruck chassis, with a gross vehicle weight of 14.8 tonnes.

New from XCMG’s lifting division is the 260 tonne capacity XCG260 crawler crane, the latest model in the range which was first introduced in 2011.

The maximum main boom length is 93 m, and XCMG also offers a light boom option which can go up to 115.5 m. There are two job options available.
