French construction giant Vinci Construction has acquired Canadian paving company Peter Bros Construction for an undisclosed sum.

Peter Bros Construction provides roadwork services and asphalt products in the province of British Columbia and had an annual turnover of CAN$90 million (€57 million) in 2024.

Vinci said the move would strengthen its presence in Western Canada, where it operates in the Vancouver area, in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

The province of British Columbia is expected to see its population grow by 50% by 2046 and Vinci said the acquisition would support the province’s infrastructure needs.

Peter Bros Construction was founded in 1981 and is based in the Okanagan Valley. It employs 140 people at peak season, operating mainly in the British Columbia interior region, with regular projects in the Dawson Creek, Williams Lake, Merritt, Kelowna and Penticton areas.
