Develon adding Leica 3D solution to dozer

South Korea-based Develon – formerly Doosan Construction Equipment and subsidiary of HD Hyundai – announced a continuation of its collaboration with Switzerland-based surveying and geospatial technology company Leica Geosystems, a Hexagon company.

As part of the partnership, Leica has tailored a 3D machine control solution – iCON iGD3 – specifically for Develon’s DD130-7 dozer. The system is coupled with Leica’s aftermarket MC1 3D retrofit system to “further enhance operator accuracy and overall project productivity.”

The MC1 3D retrofit solution was introduced in September for Develon’s DX225LC-7X excavator.

The iCON iGD3 grading system features Leica’s MCP80 control panel, dual GNSS configuration and blade control for cut/fill operations.

“The Leica iCON iGD3 3D machine control solution integrates seamlessly with Develon’s advanced hydraulic controls, allowing operators to execute precise grading and earthmoving tasks with minimal rework,” said

Develon, adding that the system provides “real-time data feedback” which the company suggested simplifies the grading process and improves site productivity.

Stephane Dieu, product manager for Develon in Europe. “This innovative solution boosts efficiency and operational excellence for our customers, enabling them to tackle more complex projects with confidence.”
