Turner & Townsend buys Egyptian firm

Global professional services company Turner & Townsend has acquired Cairo-based ValueMetric Consultants (VMC), marking its entry into Egypt’s cost management and commercial advisory market.
Founded by Ayman El-Ghazzawi, VMC is a privately owned construction consultancy that provides cost and quantity surveying services across real estate and infrastructure projects in Greater Cairo, the North Coast, the Nile Delta and the Red Sea region.
The 20-strong team will join Turner & Townsend’s Middle East business, which now numbers more than 1,000 staff.
El-Ghazzawi will take on the role of country manager for Turner & Townsend Egypt, reporting to Middle East managing director Alan Talabani. Turner & Townsend said the deal would help it to meet growing demand from Egypt’s expanding property and infrastructure sectors.
Turner & Townsend has operated in the Middle East for more than 40 years, with offices in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
