Bechtel: ‘The future of construction is digital’

Premium Content

Kelley Brown, Principal Vice President of US Renewables and EPC Operations Manager at Bechtel Corporation, believes that the future of construction lies in digital technology.

To illustrate her point, she highlights a recent case study involving Bechtel and Advanced Power. Together, they completed the engineering, procurement, and construction of Cutlass Solar, a solar energy facility located in Fort Bend, Texas. The facility began operating in January 2023 and covers an area of 700 acres.

With a capacity of 140 MWDC, it adds significant power to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas’ Houston Zone, supplying electricity to approximately 20,000 homes. The project also aims to promote renewable energy by selling Renewable Energy Credits to participating companies.
