Thwaites expands production capacity
02 December 2025
UK site dumper manufacturer Thwaites has completed the most significant factory investment in its 88-year history, adding a 4,000m2 facility that will increase production capacity by 15%.
Completed by contractor Intercall on time and on budget, the facility will be fully operational at the start of 2026.
The new factory is fitted with 1,483 roof solar panels, giving enough capacity to reduce the cost and reliance of fossil fuels, and delivering up to 33% of the site’s future power needs. The investment also includes 36 EV charging points.

Thwaites managing director Simon Hill said; “We are delighted to announce the opening of this new facility and welcome the completion of the wider work around the factory.
“This investment will make the site an even better place to work, improve productivity and drive growth.”
The facility will house the production and parts teams, which will reduce movement between the two functions, improving efficiency and productivity.
