Tender ban
24 April 2008
Slovakia’s office for Public Tenders has banned six companies for taking part in public procurement tenders for five years after the companies were accused of cartel activities. The Anti-Monopoly Office fined the companies SKK 1,35 billion (€ 38 million) last month for price fixing on the eastern Mengisovce to Janovce section of the D1 highway.
The six companies covered by the ban are Dopastav, Skanska DS, Strabag, Izinierskestavby, Betamont and Mota-Egil. However, the ban does not cover parent or subsidiary companies.
