New identity for Hitachi’s UK dealer

HM Plant, the UK dealer for Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) - HCME - has announced it has been renamed Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK), with effect from May 1, 2014.

The company’s new identity will also be introduced across its network of 11 depots across the UK.

The CEO of Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK), John Jones, said, “The move to change name makes perfect sense and follows on from another excellent year of trading, which has seen our annual turnover grow by over 30%.

“Our success to date has been built on supplying reliable, highly productive Hitachi excavators, with a low total cost of ownership, along with unrivalled support and customer service.

“This will, of course, also be the case under the name of Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK).”

HCME president and CEO Moriaki Kadoya said, “We welcome the new name of our UK dealer, which has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of HCME since April 2007. The change to Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK) highlights the strong connection between the two companies and emphasises the prominence of the Hitachi brand.

“HCME is currently planning to reinforce its position in the UK’s quarrying and mining industry, and we believe that the new name will help to promote Hitachi’s values of quality, reliability and durability.”

Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK) will continue to supply the complete range of Hitachi construction equipment, including mini, medium, large and wheeled excavators, wheeled loaders and dump trucks.
