Komatsu has begun sales of a new seven-tonne hydraulic excavator for Southeast Asia, the first excavator developed under the leadership of its Indian subsidiary.

The PC75-10M0 was developed and manufactured by Chennai-based Komatsu India Private Limited (KIPL). It is being introduced across Southeast Asian countries in stages, beginning in the second quarter of Komatsu’s 2026 financial year.

Developed alongside the PC81-10M0 for the Indian market, the machine is the third model in Komatsu’s CE (Civil Engineering) Series. It builds on the PC71-7, with changes to the engine, hydraulics, work equipment and cab.

Komatsu said the launch responds to demand for smaller excavators in road construction, land development, agriculture, forestry and rental, as urbanisation and infrastructure development continue across Southeast Asia.

The manufacturer added that customers were placing greater emphasis on total cost of ownership, including fuel consumption, maintenance, transport costs and machine uptime.

The PC75-10M0 has a new engine, which Komatsu said delivers higher output in the main specification offered for Southeast Asia. Changes to the hydraulic system and work equipment are intended to improve digging and loading efficiency, while revised engine control is designed to reduce fuel costs. The company did not provide figures for the claimed improvements.

A 3.71m boom and 1.65m arm give the excavator a maximum digging height of 7,040mm and maximum digging reach of 6,350mm. The maximum applicable bucket capacity is 0.35 cubic metres.

The redesigned cab features a 7-inch colour monitor for checking machine status.

Maintenance changes include improved access to fuel and oil filters and a battery disconnect switch. A rollover protective structure (ROPS) cab is available depending on specification.

Terumasa Imajo, executive officer and president of Komatsu’s product marketing division, said, “The PC75-10M0 is the first hydraulic excavator developed under the leadership of Komatsu India. Designed to meet the needs of customers in Southeast Asia, it achieves a high level of performance, quality and economy.”
