Bilfinger to acquire Johnson Screens

Bilfinger is to acquire US-based water technology specialists Johnson Screens. The company makes mechanical components for the separation of solids from liquids and gases, which are used in drinking water extraction, in the oil and gas industry and in other industrial.
Johnson Screens has annual sales of some € 160 million (US$ 210 million) and achieves “Attractive margins.” It employs 1,200 people worldwide and has 11 manufacturing locations.
Bilfinger says that combining these activities with existing businesses will create a leading global supplier of components and services in nearly all areas of water and waste water technology.
Upon completion of the acquisition of Johnson Screens, Bilfinger says it will gain access to new markets and manufacturing capacities in important growth regions. It added that both Johnson’s product lines and the geographical presence complement existing activities.
The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
