Zeppelin finalises Cat deal in Norway and the Netherlands

Zeppelin Group has completed the acquisition of Caterpillar sales and service operations in Norway and the Netherlands following approval from antitrust authorities.

Zeppelin Group has completed the acquisition of Caterpillar sales and service operations in Norway and the Netherlands following approval from antitrust authorities.

The deal sees Zeppelin assume responsibility for all Cat equipment and services in the two countries, previously handled by Dutch firm Pon Holdings.

The transition involves the purchase of all shares in the holding company of PEPP Group BV, including 22 companies.

It adds approximately 2,000 employees and €1.1 billion in revenue into the Zeppelin Group, and also covers rental operations and energy systems.

Zeppelin said the acquisition strengthens its position as one of the world’s leading Caterpillar sales and service organisations, expanding its footprint to 29 countries with more than 12,000 employees and over €5 billion in annual revenue.

Matthias Benz, CEO of the Zeppelin Group, said, “The acquisition marks an important milestone in the history of our Group. With the integration of these territories, Zeppelin is further expanding its market position as one of the world’s leading Caterpillar sales and service organizations - for the benefit of our customers, employees and partners worldwide.

“The transfer of this responsibility is proof of Caterpillar’s great confidence in the performance of our employees and is a great recognition of our work.”

To support the transition, Zeppelin has established a dedicated Post-Merger Integration (PMI) & Transformation Office and announced a new organisational structure.

From 2 June 2025, the strategic business units “Construction Equipment Germany / Austria” and “Construction Equipment International” will merge into a single SBU Construction Equipment, covering Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Nordics.

The company said the integration is part of a broader transformation aimed at driving internationalisation, customer-centricity and long-term sustainability.

“By creating synergies through complementary product portfolios and technologies, we will be able to offer our customers an even broader range of solutions, products and services in the future,” Benz added.
